From The Professional Bodies, Associations, and Institutes for Practitioners in the Alternative Therapies Industry

BRITISH ASSOCIATION OF COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY (BACP)

BACP provides a range of professional CPD resources to support learning and development and expect individual members to undertake at least 30 CPD hours per annum.

BRITISH ASSOCIATION OF ART THERAPISTS (BAAT)

BAAT offer a range of online CPD courses which can be used to complete annual CPD requirements. Art Therapists and Art Psychotherapists, must be registered with the HCPC, and BAAT supports their CPD policy.

BRITISH ASSOCIATION FOR BEHAVIOURAL & COGNITIVE PSYCHOTHERAPIES (BABCP)

BABCP branches hold numerous workshops and other CPD events around the UK. The Association promotes positive participation in CPD and requires members to undertake regular CPD activities in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) topics.

NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR HYPNOTHERAPY (NCH)

Members of NCH are solely responsible for determining whether a course is suitable for their personal development needs. They may choose CPD from any source. Spend at least 15 hours per year on CPD activities, of which at least 10 hours must be directly related to Hypnotherapy. Up to 5 hours may be general learning to support your practice (e.g. first aid, marketing etc).




ROYAL COLLEGE OF SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPISTS (RCSLT)

The RCSLT have an online members area where members can log in and use all their resources to complete CPD requirements. Within this policy statement RCSLT recommended that support workers and assistants aim to do between 24 and 30 hours of CPD per year.
